2013 - The Diamond Smugglers of Barungwarra
This night time activity was well attended by all five Troops in the District. In all, 41 Scouts which is 41% more than last year. 6 Leaders from the District and as many Rovers from Sandgate attended as well. I am very thankful to sir Bob Clifford for recommending the Barungwarra Bushland Reserve as the setting for this night time activity. The game’s plot had more twists and turns than a Bavarian Pretzel – like the never ending story, it just kept going and going – we had the innocent tourists, Police who eventually became corrupted, Diamond Smugglers, Gaolers who were corrupt to start with, Stores with sales assistants that embezzled and I must say even the randomly wandering Leaders lost their innocence at some stage. The game was awesome . Bramble Bay Only event
Site Map Barungwarra Bushland Reserve is located at the end of Barungwarra Drive, near the Bald Hills boat ramp. Although a detailed location map and directions were provided, several participants parents got lost in the Bald Hills housing estate and had to phone in for more directions on how to get to the site.
