2019 - Poseidon, Stafford Scout Den, Stafford.

Hi All Phew ! What a night ! Over 150 Youth attended and 35 odd Leaders. Timing was perfect with the game starting on time at 7.30 PM . The First Attack Sub to find the Poseidon and it’s Black Box was at aprx 8.50 PM , so perfect as we were able to end the Game by 9 AM I noticed a few positives as I did my rounds : - A high level of entusiasm displayed by all Players - Excellent interaction between Scouts and Leaders at the Docking Stations - Docking Station Commanders had their staff engaged at all times - Awesome creativity with the way the Docking Stations presented the activity - Scouts were well engaged at the activities and they all seemed to enjoy the tasks - A fair bit of creativity and effort went into making the various craft So thanks to all ………..and forgot to mention thanks to the Stafford Leaders for allowing us to use their Den and also stockpile the mountain of discarded cardbourd . Sandgate are bidding for next years location ………….hmmmmmmmmmmm………….. The Past ……………The Future …………………Time Travel …………. Get ready for it  Hi Puma and other Sandgate Leaders I have to commend you for the effort expended on your Docking Station . I know it was a lot of work for just 2 hours of fun , but definitely worth it . I could see the Scouts were not only actively engaged but keen to do the task . I especially liked the cloak of secrecy afforded by individual Gazebos – great way to stop the copy cats ! So GOODONYA Puma for getting it to happen and well done Sandgate Leaders for supporting Puma and the Wide Game. Puma , would you mind confirming you have stuff to return to me like the marking pens , stamp and the other gear . I would like to keep all this stuff as I reckon the Poseidon Wide Game program is worth recycling in 4 or 5 years time. Just need a bigger shed to store all my stuff in ! I would like to do the rounds this Thursday night . Can we catch you at the Sandgate Den then ? Cheers Joe “Dunnart” Reitano
Thanks Joe, A huge effort on your part and a credit to your enthusiasm and dedication. If you could bottle it and send us all a wee dram, I’m sure this Movement would be unstoppable. Well done. Joe (Cazey) Joe Many “sub” creations were way off the specifications you gave. Wooden poles Sides way over 600 mm some were simple some showed great creativity ... BUT 22 patrols came through “Collins” base so let’s say 100 scouts All were great - impeccable behaviour Polite well behaved no whinging no complaining wow that alone is so great Certainly all seemed to be engaged & having fun Makes one proud to be involved with so many great kids ( and leaders) Arnold Hi Joe, That was a well run and enjoyable event. The scouts were all enthusiastic and excited, so much so that we had to tell the winning patrol that they had forgotten to bring back Poseidon and the black box. A credit to you and all leaders who organised and ran bases. Hsienjin Bramble Bay/Charles S Snow Scout Districts North Brisbane Region, Scouts Australia. Contact us 0409473065 info@widegame.info
