Diamonds can change hands from one smuggler to another. Smugglers can buy diamonds from corrupt store employees. The gaoler has discretion e.g. may ask the scouts to recite 10 scout laws. Once released they will be given a new passport and $100. The gaoler gives the confiscated diamonds to his gaoler’s assistant to sell Gaoler’s Assistant Gaoler’s Assistants – 1: to issue new passports, 2: to look after confiscated money, 3: to sell confiscated diamonds for the gaoler.
