2016 - Airport, Boondal Den, Barlow Place, Boondal
4The purpose of the District Wide Game is to present a fun and interesting activity that challenges the Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders of Bramble Bay and Charles S Snow Districts. The game also develops social interaction between the two Districts. This night-time activity was well attended by all 4 of 5 Troops in Bramble Bay District. Charles S Snow District also joined the game. In all, 95 Scouts, 8 Venturers, 8 Rovers and 29 Leaders attended. The Airport wide game draws its DNA from a number of Airport movies such as Airport, Flying High and To Catch a Thief. Airports are very busy places –a launching pad for the happy tourist, a point of travel for the business man and first place of arrival for new Australians, and………..there is the dark side associated with criminal activities. The sheer volume of people traffic presents a major headache for the security agencies. In our Airport game the Venturers played the role of criminals trying to smuggle contraband out of the Country. It is up to the Special Airport Police – Scouts (SAPS) to follow the clues, question the suspects, track down the smugglers and bring them to justice. The game was awesome to say the least.
